History of St. Albert
St. Albert was first settled in 1861 as a Métis settlement by Father Albert Lacombe. It later became a town in 1904 and officially became a city in 1977. Today, it is the sixth largest city in Alberta.
St. Albert was voted the Best Place to Live in Canada, and then the Best Small City to Live in Canada, in MoneySense Magazine in 2014 and 2016, respectively.
